Kimmyd's 2016 Micro
I'm baaaack! After many months of cycling my butt off (ironically, not actually losing weight) I need to get serious about my HIM training! (Patriot Half in June) I notice a split run on Thurs. in the HIM plan. Let me be honest.. Not gonna happen. I need to run on the weekend. Either day is fine but it will likely vary by week so I'm just wondering, do I just do the total amount of the split run, or do I need to tweak that some other way? I could probably do the long run on Fri afternoon as well. Just looking for guidance on what is best (aside from splitting on Thurs) in terms of run structure and day of the week.... Thanks!

Tell me how you REALLY feel. The value of the split long run is to not accumulate the cost of the entire run in a single session. If you can't do it, then we need to find a way to reduce the effect of that run on other sessions...if I had my way, it would be on Sunday AM, so you could rest the rest of Sunday and then go swim only on Monday (or off) to make sure you are back on track by Tuesday.
In the ^above^ then your Thursday is the ABP ride, of 60-90 minutes as the weeks progress...make sense?
Thanks for the input! Planning on getting some folks together to ride the Quassy course on Sat. Wanna come?
I have race rehersals in the plan for Patriot half for this weekend and the weekend of 6/4. I have bike races this weekend so no-go and I have Quassy Oly 6/4. If I push one out and the other up, I'm doing RRs on back to back weekends. I'm OK with this but is it advisable? Other options? Do a RR the day after Quassy Oly?
I don't think you need both RRs at this point; you know the drill. Instead I say you enjoy your racing this weekend and put it after Quassy. The burning in your quads will help you ride steady!
