  • Got my first taste of "real" road bike descending and cornering last weekend...though still nothing like you've done I'm sure. We had a professional cyclist in camp who gave almost identical advice. Having heard it from you and him gave me a lot of confidence and I was very pleased with how successful I was. I encourage anyone else who could use some help with these skills to go to the webinar. Rich's advice is easy to follow and it works. Practice makes perfect, but he'll get you to a good start.

Thanks! I've spent a LOT of time on two wheels and descending mountain roads. Great fun but better if you know what you're doing

  • I won't be able to make the live event but one question that I always have is it better to climb seated or standing

    Ok, thanks, will cover that.

  • Coach,
Thanks for the webinar. If time permits, could you share a few tips or advice for riding in a group or pack? I know it's not the primary focus for a long course athlete, but since I have been doing most of my riding on the trainer or alone, I find what little group riding skills I used to have lacking in a charity ride or even spirited training ride with friends. Understood if you had other intentions for this webinar.
    Thanks,
    Kane
  • Are you going to talk about speed wobble ? since it happened to me 2 years ago twice in the same ride, I can't get confortable about going downhill faster than 40K/h... but when on the flat I can get to 50-55K/h without being scared.

    Coach,

That's not the focus of this webinar but tonight and next Wednesday I'm doing a short group riding clinic/talk for my local tri club. Back in the Day, when I founded the club, I and the other leaders worked hard to create a solid group riding culture within the club. That has since died, and they ride like a nasty mob now, but some of the old guard and I are going to see if we can kickstart those skills for at least once ride per week.

I may have some time to post my notes in the forum here somewhere, but I usually just make this stuff up as a I go.  But I've always believed that the ability to ride well within a group is a very, very powerful tool for everyone to develop.

  • 10-4  Thanks for the consideration
