Hoka One One Question

Might get a pair of Claytons or Clifton 2.

How long do they last?  I'm impressed by how light they are.  Do they break down pretty quick?

I wear a 10 in NB or Brooks.  Would this run true with Hoka's sizing?

  • I've had Bondi B, Clifton, Clifton 2 and now on Vanquish 2. They last far longer than other shoes I've had. I throw them away when they become too ratty looking, typically because I kick my left shoe with my right foot when I'm tired and after a few months get a hole in the upper on the left shoe. I tried on the Clayton last week - it's my next shoe, guaranteed!
  • Hello! I have had a couple pair and expect that most people here will post that they love the shoe and are addicted. I have honestly been disappointed with how quickly the sole wears down. The bottoms are not very robust which I suppose gives them the great benefit of being light however I find they don't last as long as other more traditional shoes.

That said, I do find them comfortable and run in them...haven't committed myself to a race in them however.

  • I bought a pair of Cliftons last year. I'm a size 10.5 in a Brooks Ghost, but had to size up to an 11 for the Cliftons.
  • I've had the cliftons, hokuas and now a second pair of cliftons. I wear size 12 in the hoka, newtons and the brooks when I wore those. I agree the sole doesn't hold up quite as long as other shoes I've had but it still is decent. My first pair of cliftons got 1000+ miles, my hokuas are over 500 (and still going), and the current cliftons are still young with 200.
