Patrick- Nice to talk with you yesterday.  I have been swimming 2-3 times a week (usually MWF), running 3 (TuThSa) and bikin Su.  I will add more biking.  Need to up running to get back in shape, but also be careful due to osteoarthritis.  How should I focus my WOs.  I plan to load the IM intermediate plan May 2 to prep for Vineman IM at the end of July.

  • Tim, hey! Thanks for checking in. I think that we'll want to be using the bike as the main lever for your fitness as you gradually build up the run. I think you haven't been 100% on the OS plan (per your TSR -- Training Plan / My Season) so if you need a plan to load up, I'd suggest you use the Bike Focus Block Beginner...this is a bike heavy plan and can guide you as you are on a bike focused plan.

    If you do that, load it to end 6 weeks in the future, but make a reminder to jump to the IM plan on May 2nd!

    I'd like you to keep the run down to 30 minutes at a go right now...would rather you get in 4-5 runs at 30' each for a total of 2.5 hours of running a week vs 2 x 30' and 1 x 90' -- the long running will come but we want to build your tolerance early.
