Changes to 2016 Training Plan - Bike Crash
I was originally scheduled to do races Ironman 70.3 New Orleans (April 17), but I had a bike crash last weekend and will not be able to race. I fractured my pelvis, had a high-grade concussion. I should be able to begin light training that week (April 17). I'm still planning on Ironman Austria on June 26.
Before the crash, I was on the 70.3 advance plan and was hitting:
Swim - 3x a week at masters ~2,800-3K yds. Consistent for 2 weeks coming off the out season plan.
Bike - 2-3x a week nailing the plan and quickly increasing my watts - big bummer. Hitting the long rides with transition runs
Runs - Tuesday track workouts, hitting the long runs and transition runs when <g class="gr_ gr_13 gr-alert gr_gramm undefined Grammar only-ins doubleReplace replaceWithoutSep" id="13" data-gr-id="13">bike</g> was scheduled. Was dealing with Achilles issue, but was getting better.</p>
What do I do? Patrick James

Hey Patrick,
Sorry to hear about your crash! I really think you should just focus on recovering from your accident and we can pick up this ball when the time comes on 4/17. That is, I don't think there's much value in thinking much about what training you should be doing after 4/17, given that the reason you're not training right now is a fractured pelvis (!) and a concussion (!!!). The later is especially scary.
Just take care of yourself and ping me again in a couple weeks when you get the green light from the docs.
