Aero Hydration - Feedback on TorHans

Looking for a new aero hydration system.  The TorHans Aero30 seems to be pretty nice.  Any thoughts on this versus the AeroZ?

And what about that AeroTray for mounting your bike computer -- does it work well?

Thanks!

  • Preferences differ on the t30 and between the aerobar setups. For pure performance, though, demonstrated findings are:

-the t30 has been shown to actually reduce drag by 5 or 6 watts, if you can get it positioned within a few cms from the headtube.
-the profile f35 (?), when set up with the mount beneath the bars, has been shown to reduce drag by a few watts as well.

I'm not aware of any other systems 'saving' watts, and many /most of them do add to drag. The whole xlab family are bad, iirc ... owing to the aero penalty (but conflicted by sponsor obligations), Crowie actually tossed his bta early on in the bike in Kona once he was safely away from the TV cameras.
  • I've seen the same data Dave references. I've been using the Speedfil Z4/A2 combo which has worked well for me, but that said I've been thinking about trying the t30.
  • See the classifieds where I have a bunch of Torhans stuff for sale
  • I've been using the new Xlab Torpedo Versa 500 and like it a lot. Very easy to get on and adjust with the new mounting system, and an adjustable Garmin mount that puts the computer way out in front where it is easy to see. No leaks so far.

Xlab has been promising aero data but I haven't seen it yet.
