Half Marathon Weekend

Hi Coach! I was curious as to what changes I should make to my training plan this week because I am running a half marathon on Sunday. Please let me know how I should adjust accordingly. Thanks!

  • Natalie! Hey, great to hear from you. I see you are on the SC plan, so we recommend the usual training week through Thursday...then Friday is swim only...Saturday is OFF (if you want to really race Sunday all out) or could be a Steady Bike (45 to 60 minutes max) to stay loose and not go crazy. In the case of the second workout, then your HM is more of a good effort vs peak performance.

    If this isn't your "A" race then that could work just fine!

    Monday is off, and Tuesday you are back on schedule, just not with intensity (only for time / discipline)...that will last until probably Thursday...no rush to push hard right away, let the effort come to you as you recover!
