Hey Coach R,
I'm in week 4 preparing for HIM Muncie (my B race...IMWI is my A race) and I'm not able to get more than 2 runs in per week (1 tempo on Tues and 1 long on TH). There is def a lot more running vs. the training plan I followed for 2014 IMWI. I feel my legs just can't sustain more than 2 maybe 3 runs per week.
Should I substitute another low impact w/o like elipical when the plan calls for a a double workout day...Or just stick to 2-3 runs depending how the legs feel?

Welcome back! I highly recommend you try to make 4x/wk happen, by modifying the training plan as it's written. If it were me, I'd limit those additional 2 runs to whatever volume and intensity I found or knew worked for me. Even if those runs become just 25-40' easy runs, that would still be very, very valuable for you. 2x/wk just isn't enough running, in our experience.
Just see how you do but do what you gotta do to stay healthy.

So I have my B Race...HIM Muncie on 7/9 (and my A race is IMWI on 9/11)...should I / can I modify my IM Training Plan the week leading up to HIM Muncie (less volume?)...and the week after HIM?
Getting in 3-4 runs per week (per your previous guidance)...love the split run days...legs recover much faster the next day vs. banging out a 90-120 min run.
