Half ironman /70.3- right timing?

Hi,
Just wondering if it seems reasonable for me gearing up for the 70.3/half ironman in September (25th)?
I am new to triathlons but the timing seems right with work & family, & I am so eager to dive right in to the Half Irknman distance & challenges & opportunities for growth.
My first sprint distance was July 2015, then in April. I am planning my next spring this June, Olympic in July, & planning on completing SuperFrog 70.3 Sep 25.
Am I being overzealous or is these reasonable transitions?

  • I think you are doing alot of things right.

    1) Planning out the season and thinking ahead

    2) You have joined the right team/family

    3) Setting high goals is how we move forward, learn, stretch ourselves and progress.

    • Very important to download the plan and follow it the best your can from here forward allowing few distractions like tapering for a shorter distance race between now and Sept 25th or taking a week long vacation from the plan between now and then.
    • Body composition improvements between now and then will pay big dividends.
    • Big Days and Race Rehearsals as scheduled and noted in your plan are key to your race day coming up in September
    • Staying close to the EN veterans, posting your wkos, asking lots of questions are imperative.

    Welcome to your trial! I did your Triathlon Season Roadmap yesterday, I believe, so please check that out. Otherwise, good advice from Shaughn above. Short answer is that yes, you have more than enough time to get ready for your race. Good luck and welcome aboard!

     I did check out the plan, but the only thing I can see so far in the plan is this first week.  Is that normal? OR would i be able to see ahead?

    Look for the "Show Week" drop down dealio just under the "Move / Change" training plan button. You can use that to peek ahead at other weeks of the plan. Just remember what week you're supposed to be in this week so you can toggle back to it when you're done.
