Carol and Turby's switcharoo
Hi Coach P.! Hope things are coming along with you and the house and the family and your injury and all that:-)
So Turby and I are doing Eagleman 70.3 in 2 1/2 weeks. Due to logistics, we went down to Cambridge on Tues. of this week and came home today. Tues. afternoon we did a 1.2 mile swim. Yesterday we did a race rehearsal on the bike course (my IF was .80, Turby's was a little higher I think), then we ran 6 miles after. It was SO hot! We are totally not used to the high 80's! Unfortunately, Turby came down with a bad cold but still did the workout yesterday. Today we planned on riding the bike course again, which we did. But it was super easy because Turby was really feeling awful. Although that did allow me to draft off of him for the whole ride with a .67 IF today:-) All in all, it was a good couple of days, despite his bug.
So - my question to you is: WHAT DO I DO NOW? It looks like this weekend is supposed to be a race rehearsal. Of course we didn't get the Z4 stuff in this week, nor did we get the 90-min run in. Tomorrow will be a swim day, then the weekend is here. Sunday is the Navesink-or-swim and we will do the 1.2 mile swim. It's early so we have the rest of the day open. I'm just not sure what I should be doing between now and the race on June 12th. I assume the taper week can stay as prescribed but what should I do between now and then?
THANKS!

In terms of this weekend, do last week's saturday ride + brick...then swim Sunday AM and follow up with a nice 75' run (not hard)...then you should be back on track.
PS if Turby still isn't 100% he should not really bike hard this weekend...just get time in (ride with you)? Peak race day performance hinges on being 100% recovered. #easytosaynoteasytodo
