My EN LG M2 suit is coming apart at the seams... Literally...

Who do I bitch to for a refund?  A. EN ?    B.  Tri-sports?  C.  LG?  or   D. All of the above?

I have only worn it twice.  1st time was 30min swim under wetsuit.  2nd time was 8min swim under swimskin.   The seams at the chest and ribcage are coming apart.   FWIW I have last years LG M2 suit that I trained in and raced many times last year and its still holding up fine... I also have last years M2 shirt which has also held up under many training sessions.

  • PM'ing you now, to ask for specifics and pics that I can share with LG.
  • I wore mine during a 23 minute wetsuit swim this weekend....no issues yet. Hopefully you just got a lemon and it's not a sign of broader quality issues from LG
  • My M-2 was destroyed at St George after wearing it maybe 10 times. I contacted LG. They said the hole was caused be friction. It's where the chamois makes contact with the seat. Apparently they didn't test their product making contact with the seat. I generally like LG products but can't recommend the M-2 unless you're willing to buy a new suit every year. Switched to a Castelli suit and greatly prefer it.
  • I've worn it for several 49K TTT and 26K ITUs. Haven't had an issue yet.

Maybe if you were not swimming so fast the suit would not unravel!
  • I've worn mine for a full and a half.  Its held up pretty well.

  • Tim, sorry to hear about this. Rich will be in touch, but if anyone else has LG M2 issues please advise.
  • @ P yep R is all over it!
  • too fast for the suit?
  • The space shuttle has ceramic tiles and Tim thinks that spandex should hold up on him.image
  • In Faster by GB time trialist Michael Hutchinson he spends a considerable amount of time discussing skinsuits, because they can really reduce drag. The reason I bring it up is because the placement of the fabric seams is critical in controlling airflow. Thus the seams are placed just so to make you faster and not necessarily increase durability. These suits are designed with speed prioritized. That's said the seems shouldn't just fail... He also mentioned that the suits aerodynamic qualities may change when the suit is wet. Team GB is pretty tight lipped about just how it affects drag. For what it's worth...
  • LG has asked Tim to ship the suit back so they can examine it more closely
  • @Rich- thanks for setting that up... will get it out to them soon

For those following this is not my first M2 suit, I have last years model suit and shirt, both have lots of miles training/racing and various swim practices with different suits and no issues.... I also tested the M2 suit at the veledrome last year and that is why I bought it... In the real world its just so hard to quantify... Same with tires etc... Its gotta fit , feel good, look good, and it must hold up!
  • I think you might want to give some of the blame to those delicious Whole Foods vegan Whoopie Pies. No wonder Eagleman was a struggle!

  • Got my suit back ... Wow that was quick... Looks good... Lets see how it holds up...

@DT- while I'm a fat 126lbs I can still squeeze into the XS... Oh and I do love me those Whole Foods Vegan Whoopie Pies... Like Crack!

Again - try not to be so fast and it will last longer!
