Roderick Rodriguez - Micro

HI, I've been struggling with getting the yardage in for the swim based on time constraints. I only have ~1.5 hours to get the swim workouts done. I've been able to get about ~3000 yards in that time frame at about a 2:20/100yd I'm thinking of maybe focusing on drills for some of the workouts rather than worrying about the yardage to help improve my technique to get faster. Any suggestions of trying to get the most out of my pool time?

Thanks,

Rod

You are right...your goal should be to get that swim time down to 2:00 per 100yd. Anything over that is technique issues. We have the swim ebook (http://bit.ly/24VAUCR) just remember you need to open with Adobe Reader to see the videos.

Of course there's a great deal of swim resources in Resources / Wiki here: http://bit.ly/1Ooewy8

I suggest you plan on technique in every swim session and don't worry about swim fitness until 6 weeks before race day.

IF you want, map out when you swim in a week (is that one swim, 3 x 1/2 hour swims?) and I can advise...thanks!
  •
Thanks for the resources. I typically have my swim sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday in the morning for 1 1/2 hours from 5:30am - 7am. I'm doing Lake Placid so it's a little less than 6 weeks out.
Also would you happen to know any swim coaches in New York City that I could reach out to for some one on one sessions?
