Michael Johnson's Macro Thread

I'm in for Pikes Peak Ultra July 29 (51 mile Ultra 11k elevation) and then IMFL 11/5.

I'm doing swim 3x1800m/week, bike 2 x 1:30 (:40 tempo)/week and then running 45-50miles per week. Did a 30 miler 1.5 weeks ago. I believe I'm hitting a training wall/overreaching...dunno. My run workouts including the 30 miler were subpar. I'm contemplating stopping  my biking altogether for the last month to try to regain my legs. I have another 30 miler scheduled this Friday. I would then have about 12-13 weeks after Ultra to load up on bike. Any thoughts on just stopping biking completely (with still swimming)?

    Yes, just train like a runner until the race, recover for a couple weeks using the IM Transition training plan, then load up the EN*Full training plan to end on IMFL. Good luck!
