Hi Coach Rich,
I am training for IMLOU and have a big picture training question - last year, my eldest daughter, Emma, and I relayed a local tri and won the women's division and beat all the men's relay teams too (YAY!). Emma would like to repeat again this year - the caveat is that the race is 8/27, which is week 14, which sets up as a Saturday 5 hour ride. Is there a way to move things around that week to make that happen? I know the tremendous sacrifice attached to IM training and family approval units - so if it is at all possible, I would appreciate it.

Sure, sounds like fun. Just do the race and then do the ride on whatever day that weekend the race is not. So Saturday race = Sunday long ride, for example. Good luck!
Hope you are back home and recovering well from the aqua velo at IMLP.
Question for you on camp weekends - what is the value of all that riding? I understand the RR on Friday, but to turn around another 6 hour ride on Saturday and then 3.5 on Sunday? The first camp weekend falls during Labor Day weekend, which may or may not set up for me. Typically that is the last hurrah we have before my girls go back to school. The second falls 9/23, which means we are back in the thick of things for school. The Friday RR is possible, but at this point, I cannot guarantee that I can follow up on the Sat and Sunday rides - I don't know their school or sports schedules at this point.
Perhaps flipping to the minimalist plan?
