2016 IM Maryland Week 1- Here we go!

Week 9-GUESS WHAT IM Maryland TEAM?
You are NOW officially in Ironman Training!
Al- SO great to hear from you! Pumped you are joining us on the Maryland journey!! He’s right tho----SOOOO where is everyone?? Who’s doin IM Maryland ?? Let’s hear ya!
At 12 weeks out from Maryland, Coach Rich and Coach Patrick have now crowned and officiated you into IM world. Most of you are coming off OutSeason, some maybe Bike Focus, Run Focus, ect.. some of you tested in the last couple weeks and now it is official. The great thing about Endurance Nation Ironman training is, you don't have to kiss your family friends and coworkers goodbye for the next 12 weeks. With effective training for the "everyday athlete" you should still have time for a life outside of compression socks and power meters!
Make sure to watch the videos, podcasts and blogs that are attached to each week of training on the website. They are located on the right side of the your training page.  CHECK THEM OUT! Maybe listen to them as you stretch, roll or recover or as you fuel up for a workout.
Like my picture reminder says.... MAKE SURE TO REST! As the 5th discipline in IRONMAN training, it often gets overlooked. Remember to rest. Your body (and your family) will thank you!
Peace, Love and Sweat!
- Your trusty Race Captain, Laura
Don’t forget to post on your workouts and keep us in the loop! If you have a pic or video to post remember to use #EN4Keys! Let’s seem some SWEAT! HERE WE GO!!

  • Been training pretty good since early May but had a variety of focus, first was HIM distance in June at Eagleman, then it was Sea to Summit Mt. Washington point to point adventure race, and then the Everest attempt... All those did a good job of keeping me active but NOT officially IM training... After doing 3 IM's for the last 3 years in a row I promised myself only 1 IM this year and I have kept my promise....

This week kicked off my official 12 week IM training.... 14:15 hrs , TSS 917 , 30min strength, 13k yds swim , 132 miles bike, 29 miles run...

Hope to see some accountability and some activity on the IMMD boards. We only have 11 weeks to go now.
  • I'm looking forward to Ironman Maryland! I transferred out of IMLP due to a relentless injury but now my foam roller and I will be at the starting line in October. This will be my third IM. I completed IMMT. I'm not fast..but I try!
