+++++++++++++++++++++++

Team,

Please join me on Wednesday, July 27th at 11a PST for a webinar our Post-Ironman Transition Training Plan.

Registration is here

During the webinar I will discuss:

  • Recovery and training expectations after an Ironman
  • The intent and organization of Post-Ironman Transition Training Plan
  • Expectations for resuming the rest of your season, in particular future racing
  • Anything else I can think of

Please post your questions here so I can perhaps include them in my presentation. You must be registered to attend the live session but I'll post the webinar video to this thread when the webinar is complete, so don't worry if you can't attend.

Thanks!

  • Coach Rich... Doing Wisconsin in Sept and then 4 weeks later doing Louisville. Obviously I'll spend the whole 4 weeks recovering and not trying to increase fitness... Anything special I need to do to be ready again in such a small window?

I can discuss that in the webinar and you can start you own dedicated thread for this situation in the Micro Forum with Patrick. Good luck!

  • I'm looking at a fall marathon 18 weeks after the IM. And if recovery goes well, a half marathon 6 weeks post-IM. So I'm particularly interested in timing of the return to running, when to add run volume and intensity, and when I should be feeling fully recovered and hitting my usual run paces. Also how best to mix in biking and swimming for recovery while the running ramps up.
  • I will do my best to be on the call. This is an area of focus for me. In the recent years I have excelled at failing to build my next season fitness on the fitness gains I created/worked so hard for in the previous season. (I don't just get on the Ben and Jerry bus, I drive it for a few months).

With that being said, this season was the best transition for me yet. I would love to focus and plan the transition in a true EN manner.
  • Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming!
  • Hey Folks,

I need to bump this webinar to tomorrow, Thurs, and have updated the webinar registration to reflect. Thanks for understanding!
  • Team,

I've updated the first post in this thread to include a link to the webinar movie. Enjoy!
