Running and my damn calves

I've been having on/off again pain in my calves after running. It's a very minor injury where I'm usually fine after 3-4 days of no running. Doesn't happen all the time and it's not concentrated to one calf. I wear Hoka Clifton 2. I roll and stretch them daily. I'm a damn slow runner too with my average pace ranges from 9:00 - 9:50/ mile. I land on my mid-foot. Any suggestions on what I could do?

I had been having shin splints as well as calf and Achilles pulls for years. I also wasn't one who drank very much while training. I finally did a 1 hour sweat test (which was a very simple test to do) and determined I sweat 1.5 bottles per hour. Ever since I upped my fluid intake, my calves have been much better. I may be worth a try for you.
Give it time for your body to adjust to the volume. Make sure your week over week volume is not increasing by more than 10% each week. More than that and your body will let you know in one way or another. I run in Clifton's as well and appreciate the extra shock absorbing cushion. Your body also appreciate frequency......daily runs on lower time per run vs. a once a week super long run, hence the split runs on Thursday. This allows you to drive efficiency and reduces your chances of injury/damage.

Hydration is usually never a problem.
Seems when I upp'd my mileage on a single run, my calves started bothering me. Seems I have a hard time getting past 20-25 miles per week....
