Clearly IMLP got the best of me --- sorry team - will be posting next weeks thread in a couple days - keep it up and please accept my apology for this week.
How's everyone's testing going this week? I decided not to test because based on my workouts it seems like my FTP/VDot numbers are still accurate. What that really means is I'm barely hitting my power zones and run paces This weeks training started off very well...I think the Sunday off day and light Monday gave me time to recover from the Big Day slug fest. This weekend I'm doing a 100 mile grand fondo Saturday and a 2-3 hr ride Sunday. I'm getting excited about the training camp next weekend...anyone here attending the Camp?
@Derrek, I didn't test this week either feeling good about where I'm at. Granfondo sounds fun it's nice to do those long rides with others. I can't attend camp next week, so I did a mini camp this past weekend in Chattanooga on the course. Rode the full course sat (2loops) and did 1 loop Sunday. Checked out the hills on the run too. I can't wait to go back down for the race.
@Josh, glad you were able to get in a camp-weekend last week. Will see you in September! I'm hoping we'll have good weather next weekend. @Don, Yeah...see you next week.
Two things... First, ride was good in the new bike for the first 3 hours. Then the left aerobar rotated about 45 degrees which made for strange riding.... Not easy to adjust as was my old set up. Remove, expose the hidden hex heads, loosen, adjust, crank and reattach. One would think with all the tech wrapped up in this, a dummy like me should be able to do minor things without needing to consult with my bike tech by phone!
And camp at the end of the week. I am planning to arrive on Wednesday afternoon and get a room for the night. Anyone else getting in early? I am interested in the itinerary for the camp as well. Anyone been to one in a prior year?
I went in 2014. Thursday evening is social + classroom. Friday is ride full course + 3-6 mile brick run followed by debrief. Sat is one or two loops + optional run followed by debrief and camp dinner. Sunday is long run - typically one loop of the run course.
