Weekly Weigh in for 5/26/2010
Okay, the spreadsheet is here
I gained some weight back after the trip to Belize, but more from the crappy food I ate once we were back because I hadn't gone grocery shopping (seriously I had pizza & soda for 3 days straight the week we came back!) Combined with the food at the airports and during the vacation and I'm relatively happy to only be up 3#. Need to figure out what I can do to keep weight loss going and still have energy for work outs though because those keep getting longer and more intense now.

Yea, I gained too, my back is out, so I'm out for at least 2 weeks. Sucks.
OK, I am jumping on this band wagon. Need the accountability.
Quick data:
So, I have a lot of work to do. I am going to work with Paleo for Athletes but not eliminate dairy or grains completely. Just cut them way back. I like them too much. Goal is to get to 200 lbs. and reverse the body fat gain completely by EO September.
Yesterday was day 1. Burned 3,673 calories and had 1,202 calorie deficit. Too steep. Shooting for more like 400 deficit per day.
Will plug info into the spreadsheet later today.

I've been using the Lose It app on my iTouch for the last 3 weeks. My goal is to lose 1 pound a week for a total of 20 pounds by IMWI taper. So far I've lost 3.6 pounds with a 1.6 pound weight loss last week from ToC. The trick now is to not eat like I did at ToC as I'm not riding 4-5 hours a day in the CA sunshine. Wah!
I've been all over the map this past week - up, up, then today down to .2 lower than last Wed. My first race is in 18 days (Eagleman) and I'm still about 5-7 up from my "normal" range so my goal is to knock that off in the next 2.5 weeks... not sure if it will happen but if my jeans/pants start to fit in the thighs again I'll consider it a success... 6 months on IR really takes a toll. Glad I only gained 10 but, darn, is it a pain to take off. Decided to put myself on a "diet" until the race - meaning I'll be more careful to only take in what I need (never been all that calorie conscious, just try to eat well...) and to cut alcohol (Love my wine with dinner)... 18 days won't kill me... then 1 week transition (with a vaca) and back at it - I want to be at my race weight when I'm done with the 8 weeks of general prep in mid aug.
Still stuck at 149.2, no change from last week. I'll try giving up the wine at dinner and cutting way back on any post-dinner eating, but it may be that I can't move the needle much until my AT is fully healed and I'm back to full run TSS. And if that doesn't do it, I guess it means this is my race weight.
I fell off the wagon so to speak. Tony you're 3 days of bad eating is more like 7 or 8 for me. I weighed in at 220 so back to eating better for me. I'm obviously not exercising enough for what I'm eating.

Good day yesterday.
Still a little steep, but closer. I burn a few more calories than I thought at night.
Where my calories came from:
The almond butter is a killer for fat calories. I want to be closer to 15% to 18%. Still trying to drive down carb, but it is hard.
Made chocolate brownies with my son last night and didn't eat one. However, I am eyeing one for today!

Ate really well again yesterday. Still high on calorie deficit yesterday with 793. Burned 3,808 calories. This includes having a very yummy brownie my son made after lunch. I savored every bite. Felt a little hungry before bed, but not bad. Need to eat more at dinner, I guess.
Really hard to drive down carbs per Primal. I can see in my food logging where the carbs are but not really ready to cut those back.
I am liking this Paleo for Athletes diet. Made a nice pork loin dinner last night with honey/apple cloe slaw and some brown rice. The first two were from Paleo recipe. The night before was a nice juicy lean sirloin steak. No omnivore dilemma for me.
