Restless Legs - Normatec?

All:

Has anyone with Restless Leg Syndrome purchased a Normatec system?  I was wondering if it helped?  It looks like there is a leg and hip option available did you get the leg only anyone buy the hips portion?

Usually (but not always) my restless legs are worse on Sunday nights, I do experience RLS other days of the week as well.  My legs - calfs, thighs, hamstrings, glute's are usually stiff as he## and I foam roll and stretch quite often.  I usually foam roll before I go to bed, then wake up later with jumpy legs, repeat, etc. sometimes it works, mostly not, tried motrin, aspirin, to no avail.  Going to see a doctor today but thought I'd ask to cover my bases.

Any and all comments/thoughts/speculation are appreciated.

  • I get restless legs whenever I've been training really hard. Typically it will stop after I relax but if it persists, the only cure for me is to get up in the middle of the night and take a 30 min hot bath. That always does the trick.

If you are looking for justification to buy Normatecs this seems like as good as any!

  • I have not tried this solution.  I have had chronic and progressively worse restless legs that past 3 years.  Nothing helped.  Like Paul, I had my routines that helped in the middle of the night.  My doctor started trying different medications, and finally one worked immediately and effectively.  Ropinorole was a miracle for me and I take a very low dose.  I couldn't believe it and have been sleeping through the night again.  I know everyone is different, but thought I would throw this out there.

  • Not being anywhere near a medical professional, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I heard a few years ago that restless legs - especially for women - was due to lack of iron. My doc further said that restless legs is usually covered by insurance while low iron alone is not (ex, they won't pay for regular supplementation); but it was the same treatment for both conditions! Insurance is so random!

Take it with a grain of salt, but that's what I recall.
