I hope I was able to capture everything that we discussed! If not, please let me know.
Re Swimming: Yes, I think you should find an Open Water Swim coach or coached practice. Let's see how this weekend goes at your Sprint, but if you still feel like you need one, then let's go for it.
Mon - AM Swim, Run Group (Assuming run group is later in the day).
Tue -Interval Bike + Brick Run.
Wed - Swim Day?
Thu - What ever you can. Interval ride on trainer in AM?
Fri - Short Run in AM if possible. Some strides at the end.
Sat - Run Group (Replaces your Thursday long run).
Sun - Cycling Group (Your Saturday Ride).
In other news...
Week 8 (9/5) - Looking to do Swim . Bike . Run on that Saturday.
Week 15 (10/24) and Week 18 (11/14) are both swim / bike / run rehearsal days.
This way you can put those on your calendar so you are ready!!!

Hi Patrick,
Nice talking to you on Tuesday and I am looking forward to this program. The availability listed is good, but I only run with a group on Mondays and I saw there was another group run on my schedule where it can just be my long run of the week. Will there be a scheduled rest day each week of training?
I have a couple of questions I will list below:
For this week's training plan, there is no swimming scheduled. I swam on Monday morning before I received the training schedule for this week and was planning on swimming today with Masters and tomorrow at the beach. My workout for today is a bike and run and tomorrow is the 5k test. So, is it ok if I still swim?
In addition, for the next three weeks I am doing some strength training which is not normally in my routine to prepare me for the Gladiator race on 8/27. Just want to make sure I am on the right path.
Have a wonderful day.
Thank you,
Wynde Barz
If you can work your own long run plan with the group, that’s fine. When you have done a week or tow of the training you’ll probably have a good sense of the schedule, and can post it here for my feedback (if you want).
There is no fixed rest day. If you have a preferred day, let me know. We generally consider a Swim day to be a rest day…but I can help work it in as you see fit.
Always okay to just swim…if you need less than 24 hours feedback from me, please use the chat icon in the bottom right of the screen. This forum is more long form…I check in 3x a week.
Strength training is great…if you wouldn’t mind sharing what’s up with your plan for that I am sure the Team would be interested!!!!
