Hi Coach,

My training is going well.  Since I'm taking an 18 mile bike commute to swim practices and long bike rides my bike mileage last week was 20 miles Wednesday, about 80 on Saturday and 45 on Sunday.  This coming Saturday there is a preview ride for Rev 3 (I'm doing the 1/2 on 9/13 in preparation for IMNC 10/22).  There is a 56 mile option and an 100 mile option.  I've never ridden the 100 miler, but I was planning on it, along with a brick run afterwards, hoping to do at least 5-6 miles.  There's also a 2 mile OWS on Sunday.  The very cute young lady I just started dating is doing the OWS Sunday, so that one's pretty much cemented in the schedule. 

My question, I'd like to do 100 miles on Saturday, but if 56 is the better call, I'll go with that.  Your thoughts would be appreciated.

  • Great to talk yesterday! I think that your best course of action is to load up Run Durability plan now and do two cycles (they are 4 weeks each, so you'll need to load one, go back, load the other, etc.) before loading the Balanced Intermediate Marathon plan to on end on 5/28.  

    I am happy with you modifying the run durability plan to accommodate your two swims a week. If you want my feedback on that, just let me know I'm happy to help!
