SRAM eTap

Has anyone installed the SRAM eTap wireless shifting system on their tri-bike?

I am considering this upgrade for my tri-bike and would like to know your impressions and any advice.

  • Don I have been using it since about April and it is Flawless for me.  I really like it!!

  • yes.    do it !

    no problems.

  • Don ... Every party has a pooper ... I recently installed eTap Red to my Specialized Shiv, replacing 1st gen Di2 ... I would beware. Talk to SRAM to make sure fit and compatability with your bike is not an issue. When it works it's awesome ... When it doesn't work it's catastrophic. Cost me my race at CDA last weekend. Shifting amongst the cog (rdr) it is flawless but shifting between rings (fdr) sketchy. It is fairly new so bike shops that tried to dial it in for me said this is the first time we've looked at this system ... Thought it was fixed but wasn't. When it's in the stand no problems ... On the ground problems.

I am sending my bike to Todd at TT Bik Fit to get it dialed in ... Will reserve final judgement until he gets it back to me.

Might just be a one off issue, hard to say ... Just do some homework.

  • Don, I installed it on my P5 and Carol's P3 which was a breeze on both. Some fine tuning after with a bit more on Carol's FD but now everything is working great. I just raced with it yesterday at IMMT and it was flawless!

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone!
I'm feeling the need...the need for speed (shifting) image
