Rich's Micro - Camp Week

Hi Patrick,

I was just going over the camp week for the full plan (week 15). I will be heading to Louisville for the Labor Day weekend (since it is only 6 hours from MI) to workout on the course (Labor Day and camp week lined up perfectly). In the video for the week, you stated that the volume days are typically, Friday (big bike/run) , Saturday (big bike), and Sunday (long run). I'm shifting the Friday/Saturday workouts to Saturday/Sunday since that is the time that I'll be there.

For the long run day, should I shift that to early this week (maybe tomorrow-Wednesday)? Or should I plan on doing it on Monday, so I get the cumulative fatigue? If I do move it to Monday, how should I shift the rest of the week 16 around to accommodate for the scheduled Monday rest day?

  • Rich, I say long run the Monday, this Thursday is your choice. For the following week, Don't worry about it too much since the number one goal is getting camp week done. That trumps everything else. I say that you plan on Tuesday being a swim only day and Wednesday biking aerobically. depending on how you feel you can either cut down on Thursday one or switching with the Friday for an additional day of rest. Then Saturday and Sunday as planned.
