What is recommended training plan/taper week of EN LP rally?

 Hello all and coaches,

Quick question? As the IMLP rally is 2 weeks away, what are people doing or what is recommended for our training earlier in the week? Is anybody doing anything different Mon-Wed or even days before that so they are rested and ready to train hard for the rally?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.  Looking forward to meeting everybody who is attending.

  •  Good question Sean as I am hoping to join all of you, just figuring out the logistics because I was supposed to have "man" weekend this weekend but my back went out, so now I think I can go to the EN camp!!!  I wish I could answer that for you, but I'm not doing IMLP this year, but would like to meet the coaches and the EN members so I figured since my race wasn't until Sept, I could meet everyone, get some good riding in, and sit back with you all and suck down some root beers!  As for my training, I'm sticking with whatever my OS plan calls for that week and planning on holding on as well as I can for the weekend.  I think if you been following the plans, you'll be fine.  Good time to probably rack up some TSS points anyway!  Hope to see you and others there!!

P.S.  Can I still go if I sign up this late?  What if I don't have a facebook account?  (I refuse!!!!)

  • @ Dan, yes you can go. Anyone can go, just gotta show up. Use the official camps page to find info on hotel and if you want to pay for dinner, etc.

@ Sean, good question. Given the 112 on Friday, 100+ on Saturday, I suggest you bump the thurs long run to Sunday taking Thursday off or doing friday's swim early. That's really it. Would rather have you train up and into the weekend, rest after, then rest early in anticipation of the weekend. So many things can go wrong/crazy that getting tired and having to spin it in after 90 miles is the least of your worries! image
