IM racing

 

I have done the IMWI four times, every time I have improved on my times with this last one seeing the most improvement. I felt like I was getting a little burnt out before this last race, seem to have lost some mojo. I have more of a runners back ground & every time it comes to the run portion I have stomach issues'  that I haven't been able to tackle. I have ran the NY & been to Boston to run their marathons but I really suck at the run part on IM. Debating what to do this coming year. Just stick with a HIM or resign back up for IMWI. I have no trouble putting in the work for I have a very supportive spouse.

Looking for some guidance in moving forward.

  • Tom, why the fixation on Wisconsin? Do a different IM to get your motivation up. Re your stomach issues...did you test your nutrition with a hard effort on your Race Rehearsals? At what point in your IM are those stomach issues showing up? Where you taking in any solids on the run? What is the delta between your IM marathon and your open marathon? Was your heart rate in check when the stomach issues manifested?
