Chris Zarlengo 2017 Micro Thread

CZ -

Good talk today and congrats again on your first half! Epic!!  If next year is to be the year of IMCDA, then there's some basic planning to do.  image

1. Have fun..and thats your Rock Climbing gig.

2. Work towards next year with some Run Durability stuff...but don't load that until 9/26 earliest, or 10/3 if you want another week before "getting back."

3. Continue with the Run Durability stuff until the January OS, which is a 1/9 start. Remember RD plans last 4 weeks so you'll need to load the next one as you go. We can talk about climbing more in Jan when we get there.

4. I suggest some goals for this fall...whether it's total # of runs or a weekly minimum # of runs...even some rock climbing goals are okay..just to keep you on track. Let me know what you are thinking!!

  • Here's your updated Season Plan, as promised. This is where you'll return to post all your "coach" questions as responses; I'll see them and reply. This first post is my best outline of how to proceed with your races, but you can ask any / all questions you want. So post away, know that I reply here usually M/W/F each week.

    Your Notes

I am almost back to 100% pain free from an ankle injury (rock climbing) and a knee injury (backpacking) which both happened in the months leading up to my A race during the summer (DNF Ironman CdA) when my knee started hurting after the 1/2 point on the bike.

Run speed is @ 85% and Bike FTP is @ 92% of pre-injury levels.

    Coach Notes

Chris, I hope that the RDP is treating you well...not sure if you are online with us, but we do have a great text group for you to check out: Run Durability on GroupMe

Our goal is to have you happy and healthy heading into the OutSeason®. You'll do the full OutSeason® then roll right into Swim Camp for recovery. After that it's into the !tpc

    Let's get to work!
