  • This was my first HIM last year. Had a great time. Loved the crowd support on the run course. Looking forward to doing it again this year. Training has been a little off most of this year but luckily have been healthy for a build to the race and I seem to be staying healthy. I am staying at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Augusta. Anyone interested in trying to meet for dinner on Friday night or breakfast Saturday morning?
  • Good luck everyone.
Augusta was my first HIM and it's a really fun race.
Augusta is a fun town and the crowd support, especially on the run down Broad street is great.
  • Thanks Don,

It was my first HIM last year and really looking forward to it again last year.  Love the crowd support on the run.  It is absolutely energizing with all of the encouragement as you run up and down the streets.  I know you are racing IMCHOO on the same day so good luck to you as well!

  • Any plans to meet on Friday/?Saturday
  • This is my 2nd year for Augusta. It's an awesome race. The detour on the bike has lots of people upset due to increased elevation but overall it's not that bad. I've learned to just gear down and always be pedaling as I kind my way to the top of each hill.
Would love to meet up with other EN members. We have our camper set up right beside T1 --woohoo!! -- so if you need anything that morning we are close!! Headed to check in tomorrow, maybe some of y'all will be around.
  • Hey all. Just catching up now forums--late to the party. I will be at check-in tomorrow in early afternoon. My first time around at Augusta and looking forward to it. My wife and kids have filled the schedule with local plans so can't make a team get together this go around but hope to see some ENers on the course and maybe at check-in. Good luck all.
  • This is my 3rd trip to Augusta. Like others have said, it's a lot of fun. Getting together tonight will be tough for me depending on when my wife & I get out of town. We usually go to the Bees Knees (tapas place) downtown if anyone needs a restaurant recommendation. Other than sleeping in, I am not sure what our schedule is for tomorrow.

My bib/rack is 265. Probably dropping my bike off early afternoon tomorrow so if you're wandering around transition bored stop by.

We usually hang out on the big hill overlooking swim start on Sunday (I'll be in an EN kit), though I have an early wave this year so we won't be there long.

If I don't get to connect with anyone beforehand, I'll see you out on the course!
  • No worries on the getting together.  I just threw it out there to see if anyone wanted to.  Looks like everyone is pretty busy and ends up so are we.  Not getting out of here as early as we had hoped.  Look forward to seeing everyone on the course.
  • It's getting real. I just got the armband. Lol. Checking was super quick and easy. Good luck everybody!!!
  • All checked in. Are we doing a GroupMe?
  • Got in much later than expected. Actually, did expect it but had planned/hoped for much earlier. Got to check in about 6 and got it and the "mandatory" purchases done. Relaxing now and planning the day tomorrow. Planning on breakfast at ihop and then checking the bike in around noonish but we shall see how that works out.....
  • Headed to bike check in. Might hop in the water as well (if they let us)
  • Bike check in done about an hour ago. Commence to chillin.......
  • Dropped bike then got a quick swim in around 1:30. The water feels nice. Now just laying 0n the couch watching football.

I'm in the 5th wave tomorrow AM. Anyone else?
  • Munched on some left over pasta. Watching football. Life is good.

    I'm 7th wave.
  • Great to meet Chris and David this morning at transition. For the first time in Augusta the swim is NOT wet suit legal. Water temp is 77. So funny, last year i was worried about the cold water and this year I was looking forward to the cool temps. Oh well. They are saying current is at 2 knots so still going to get that river push. Good luck everyone!!!!!
