Tracy Chin Macro Thread

Hi Tracy,

This is your very own “Macro Thread” where you and I can discuss any questions you may have about the Triathlon Season Roadmap (TSR) that I created for you here. This is also a space where we can discuss any big picture, season planning, race schedule and other related issues you may have going forward.

Welcome aboard!

  • Hi Coach Rich,
I'm just getting through navigating the website...it's a lot of information! I'm mostly interested in the Outseason plan and wondering your opinion on which color stretch cords are best for me...I'm 5'7 135lbs if that means anything. I thought there would be a set of all color cords...but couldn't find on swim outlet. Also, are you entirely against strength training in the outseason other than the core & swim routine? Oct-Dec is the only time I can get any type of strength training in and want to ensure the core & swim program are enough. I'd like to specifically tone my upper body, back and arms. I know with Kona coming up you guys are swamped so I totally understand if you can't get back to me right away.

    Thank you.

    Tracy:

    • Stretch Corz here, I have the green ones, I think, so you'll want to go with less than green
    • Recommend you give our routine a few weeks before you decide to do more, especially if it means going to a gym. At all times we are interested in being very, very efficient with your time and carving out sessions in the gym usually don't fit with that. Bonus if you can do stuff at home but if it begins to impact your sport-specific, triathlon sessions, then you'll want to cut back on that extra work.

    Good luck!
