Glad I found this section as I’m looking to go Keto to drop unwanted weight. My major questions surround how to fuel for training for varying lengths and still keep the premise of LCHF. I use Gatorade endurance for all efforts over 60minutes because it’s used on course for Ironman events. I see UCAN recommended by a few people along with Tailwind. I’m just trying to get fat adapted and have enough good fuel to log long runs and bike training/races in the heat(South Fla resident). As an aside I have an extremely high sweat rate so training on only water would be a negative for me.
@maurice matthews are in season training now? If so, it is not the best time to start Keto. There is transition time anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months where your workouts are going to suffer especially if you are following the EN plans. Having said that there are different Ketogenic diets that you can follow. Here is a good article to outline them. I flip between the TKD and the CKD way of eating. I will do the TKD until my training gets long and then I incorporate the CKD for the weekend workouts.
I used GenUcan as my fueling source. They have hydration as well, but when I am doing training under 2 hour I just use water, apple cider vinegar and salt.

@Brenda Ross I am not in season training although I am on a marathon plan. I've been focused on running only. I've taken this as a "run year".
I've UCAN in the past and will re-visit it.
Thanks for that link. Checking it out now.
