Patrick Quinn Macro Thread

Hi Patrick,

This is your very own “Macro Thread” where you and I can discuss any questions you may have about the Triathlon Season Roadmap (TSR) that I created for you here. This is also a space where we can discuss any big picture, season planning, race schedule and other related issues you may have going forward.

Welcome aboard!

  • Ok, after a brief setback due to a work realted injury, I was able to begin my outseason program. I only started on 12/5, in stead of 10/31. I completed my firsts tests and entered the info today. One thing I am noticing thus far is that I am able to hit my HR zones on the bike easily. When I run my HR tends to go up quickly and despite slowing pace I often remain in the zone 4-5 range for the duration. Is this something that I should be concerned about? I am not experiencing any fatigue, the HR just goes up and stays up. Overall I am loving this site and enjoying my workouts. Thank you.

    Hey Patrick,

    Thanks for circling back. Notes:

    • Please resubmit your race schedule and any updates to me here. Since you're starting the OS quite a bit later than I had planned, I'll need to adjust everything for you.
    • HR: normal, it's called "being out of shape" and I'm right there with you right now. My Garmin alternates between flashing HR, pace, and WTF!!! right now. Don't worry, things will calm down as your fitness improves.
  • Coach Rich,
Thanks for the reply as well as your candor. I would agree that I need to work towards better fitness. I submitted the updates you requested. Thanks again.
