Uwharrie Mountain Run-Feb 2017

Anyone have any insight about this race? I got hooked into considering the 20miler by a guy at the gym this morning and want to know what I'm getting myself in to. Based on the website, it looks like a pretty epic trail race.

Difficult race. Very hilly. People frequently miss turns and have to go back to find their way. Weather can suck. Typically fills up very fast. A great race for a badass rockstar with a femur fracture.

hmm, people frequently miss turns? Meaning, they get lost in the woods? Yeah, me lost in the woods = very bad outcome, ha! Yes, I did think for a split second if it would be wise to do with this little femur issue ;-)

Danielle, That looks awesome (except the getting lost part) ... I think you should do it ... IN 2018 :-)

What Tim said! My calves are still griping from 410ft of elevation in just under 4 miles on TUESDAY! And I've been running (slowly and short) six days a week. Be smart woman!

Hey Danielle, Just an FYI. My friends have told me this race sold out by 0915 the morning of registration. 75 minutes to fill all 3 distances. If you decide to sign up next year be prepared right when registration opens. Let me know if you decide to do it. It's an hour from my house. -Jay
