Braking Power Meter

Hadn't seen this before.

Breaking Bad: Brake Power Meter

Take Home Message: Mr Miller says research shows braking power and time spent braking is directly related to lap times. “More skilled, faster riders brake powerfully over a short space of time, whereas slower, less skilled riders brake with less power over a longer time period.”

Very helpful info for courses like Wisconsin.

  • Interesting, but it's designed for disc brakes, and especially downhill MTB racing. If you are running a disc brake equipped endurance bike on IMMOO then yeah, but this will have limited application to most triathletes. But the point is well taken...stay off your brakes as much as possible.
  • +1@Paul.

I've been doing as many pure road cycling races as possible the last 12 months. On thing I've learned from crits, pursuit races, and TTTs... The more you hit the brakes the quicker your race day is over. Stay off the brakes if possible!
