I added the header stuff to add this week, but didn't want to format the cells to calculate. Didn't want to fook up the spreadsheet.
My average daily caloric deficit last week was 648 (4,538 for the week). And as expected I lost 1 lb. I have been eating really well. Had a couple of days where my carb and protein intake %'s were almost identical. No loss in training energy. Will continue to work on raising protein intake and lowering carb intake.
One thing I noticed this week was that my clothes are actually feeling a little less snug!
I seem to be stuck in a funk. Not eating right, training is the pits and just low motivation. This is not a good combination with week 4 of the general prep, this means testing.
Perhaps this will spark me.
I weight in with no gain/no loss. Still at 220 from my previous weeks of bad eating.
OK Gordon, sounds like you are looking for a spark so here it is. I have passed you my man. 216, down from 242. I am rocketing towards 195! My goal is to reduce the Ancona differential to less than 50lbs. It started at 102lbs. It is currently 78.5 lol!
Let's race to 200. I am wagering that I will be there by July 14. Consider the gauntlet thrown!
Ultimately I will be at 195 on race day, 8/29/09 for IMLOU.
@Gordon, I hope I can send you some motivation too! I have found that once one aspect of training goes, it all goes!! Once I have some BK or Wendy's or something, it starts a downward spiral for everything else, I won't train, I watch too much tv, and I stay up later. Try to focus on one thing, stay dedicated to it, then you will feel committed to the others because of it. Keep it up man, pick day and just do it man!!! Good luck!
@ Mark that is funny weight will now be measured at EN on the Ancona differential. Alright the race is on, although I have until August 29th for IMC so a little more time that you.
@ Dan - I wish it was just BK or Wendy's that might be a step up in nutrition habits. I have to kick the coke habit (legal liquid form) again.
Gordon, I just switched to diet. I don't give a shit what threads have said, I love it, and damn it, I need one vice. Only the good die young. Life is too short, so if I don't drink alcohol, I can get away with diet soda everyday!
@Mark: alright, are you calling me out? Wouldn't happen to be going to IMLP camp are you? I'll drink if that's what it takes to be accepted around here!!!!
@Dan - LOL. Just kidding hoss. Fact is, I have been to tired to drink the last several weeks. Probably (definitely) has helped with the weight loss.
Not doing the IMLP camp but I did that race before. It is beautiful. I am headed to do the Louisville course on June 12th to ride with some folks from the iamtri group. There will be pizza and beer afterwards for sure. Not necessarily in that order.
Damn . . . lotsa smack talk in here this week. Can't tell whether Mark's challenge to Gordon is a carrot or a stick!? I assume a stick - "THWACK!" It's all good.
Mark, those are some major lbs lost. Good work! What is your secret?
Funny week this week for me. Trained Monday and Tuesday but had Wednesday and today open to work on my sons tree house. I spent 10 hours or so going at it yesterday and burned 5,334 calories and didn't eat nearly that amount. Ended up with a 2,220 calorie deficit. Today will be close to 4,700 calories and a 1,500 calorie deficit. Funny thing is I am just not that hungry. Must be all the caffeine from the Diet Cokes!
@ Dan - I hear you a vice or two is okay but my problem is I have too many. So coke goes first. I get beer on occasion, but it seems my brother, friend all seem to defalt to meet at the beer at pub or boston pizza for the hockey game. Good thing the playoff are over.
@ John ya it's probably the stick. I probably need a twack or two.
@John - I am just playing around. Don't take me too seriously. I am just looking for some motivation. At first, losing weight is easy. For me, its losing the last 15 or so that is tough. Since Gordon and I are so close in weight I thought it would be fun to have a challenge! Speaking of a challenge, I checked the spreadsheet and did not see what your weight is but I did see that you and I have the same goal weight. You want some too? Bring it! LOL! 195 or bust baby! How are you determining your calories burned?
@John: I think we're all losing it mentally because of the lack of "good" food!! so we're getting a bit whippy, I know I am, no beer, steak, tacos, hotdogs, doritos, man, I better stop, I'm also getting depressed!!!!
I met with my nutritionist again last night. I've got 6 weeks to trim the last several pounds from my 6'1" frame before Vineman. I want less KG in my W/KG equation.
Moving to lots of shakes and salads, with LOTS of lean protein. Costco shopping trip tonight! cha-ching!!!
I am running in the heat and that is a weight dropper!! 90 degrees finished up a brick run this past week on my bday!! this week 22 miles/wk and last week26/week and my other tng is picking up too... so I am getting towards my goal of "race weight"... I need 1.8 more. Swimming makes me ravenous whereas hot runs and I am not hungry.. and cycling is just so so...so I figure, more hot runs?? lol. sounds like the guyz are getting after it with bets, and bribes and all manner of smack talking. and you guyz are great about being single focused so??? and are number crunchers so I am sure you will do great! girls? proud of everyone for tweaking their diet and eating healthy! Take care of yourself so you can take care of your family! is what I say... talk at ya later!!! m

WAIT..... is it over????? the sheet stops at last week's date!!! I'd love to help out here and add on, but I know nothing about spreadsheets!!!

Nice job everyone.

Gordon
Spreadsheet updated for June, including necessary calculations.
Still holding at high weight, haven't quite recovered from being sick I think.
