Patrick, I do my bike run workouts with garmin, uploads automatically to garmin connect and strava, now EN team page. Do I need to log someplace else as well?

    thanks

  • Jeff, nope! We only look at your workouts when we talk athlete / coach. So log them so you have them, but you are in charge of letting me know if a session / discipline is particularly challenging (say, Saturday ride) and then you and I can work on adjusting things with an eye towards improvement.

As for the Core and other focus points we have for the OutSeason®, you can log those in our trackers if that will help you stay more consistent. All of the OutSeason® tracker sheets can be found under Training Plan / Training Plan Central / OutSeason Resources here: http://bit.ly/2eJqK3j

    Hope that helps!

  • I do a lot of 2-3 day trips, usually fly out very early day 1 and return late evening on day 2/3. The hotel stay is no issue getting the workout in.
but for example, this week I'm traveling on Tuesday returning Wednesday. should I move my Tuesday workout to Monday, take Tuesday as the off day?
    thanks
  • Jeff, yes that's the best option to use that OFF day as a swing day.

In the future if you need faster than 24 hour / weekend turnaround ,please use the red chat circle in the bottom right so I don't miss you. I hope your trip is going well!!

  • In overlaying my IM int training against my calendar, I have a couple conflict weekends
week 8 sat 3/25 race rehearsal, I'll be out of town at a wedding , I can move this to sunday afternoon, do I move the B210 R60 to Saturday, if not what to do the day before the rehearsal
week 9 I'll be doing IM70.3Oceanside Saturday 4/1, all day 20k sunday with my wife in Carlsbad which is 4 5k's back to back starting every hour. Can you look at the full week 9, will I still be running 180 mins 2 days before the race?
Finally, on the delfino tri tops, i'm 6' 163# 32 waist, suggest M? thanks
  • @Jeff Beetz

I think we need to compromise where we are at related to work required and races.

Oceanside can count for the skills portion of your RR (swim + bike, nutrition). I really just want you to get in a long ride (ideally single session) as much as possible that wedding weekend. I don't care about the run or the swim elements. And we should move the long run one week earlier to give you room to recover before Oceanside.

    So I would do this:

    Mon - As planned.
    Tue - As planned.
    Wed - As planned.
Thu - Your long run of 3 hours here (or longest possible).
    Fri - Ride?
    Sat - Wedding
    Sun - Ride?
    Mon - Swim
    Tue - Bike only.
    Wed - Swim + 45' run @ TRP.
    Thu - 45' bike (4 x 1' @ FTP/Z4, otherwise Zone 2) + 15' run (@ Zone 2/MP).
    Fri - OFF
    Sat - Oceanside
    Sun - 20k
    Mon - OFF

Please review and let me know what you think!

  • I can bike 4-5 on a trainer sunday afternoon wedding weekend, so that leaves what to do Friday and Saturday of wedding weekend
Friday I can swim or run early
    Saturday I could run
Other than that it all fits nicely, thanks for the rework
  • Thanks @Jeff Beetz!

    • Friday is swim
    • Saturday is a 45' run @ TRP with a few strides.
    • Sunday PM is your long ride.
    • Monday is scheduled for swim, but you might want the day off after Sunday night....your call!
  • @Jeff Beetz - good call yesterday!! You are right on track...now's the time to button down the final pieces of the plan / puzzle.

All the race execution stuff you need to know about pacing, etc, is online here. Super helpful.

And the IMTX forum is a good place to check in before the race to see what's what.

I mentioned Race Plans..you can search the forums, but here's a good one from grizzled vet Ed Eovino.

Let me know what else you need, I am on standby!
