  • Hey Chelsea, great to talk yesterday! If you are changing plans (Trial to OutSeason®, for example) then you need to do that. If you mean OutSeason® Week 2 to OutSeason® Week 3, the plan does that.

  • Still dealing with the foot injury this week. Should I run on it or switch the elliptical?

    Also

    Can I just switch the days around to what works best in my schedule? I can only swim Wednesdays and Saturdays is why I'm asking.

    I know that you and I have been chatting over intercom. I have giving you some advice on how to modify the morning as well as investigating your footwear choices. If you would prefer to swim rather than a rest day, and make it happen. I am totally fine with you swimming at least tomorrow as we give your foot sometime to rest.

  • So I have a Fx in my heel. I'm supposed to start the short course plan this week. I have at least 4 weeks of NWB then I can take the boot off and start getting back to running. My question is what should I do to modify run days? I have a concept 2, I can probably do the elliptical in the boot. Just looking for some direction.

  • Chelsea... Don't take this the wrong way, but THANK GOD THERE WAS SOMETHING THERE BECAUSE IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!

    I like the idea of you doing the Concept 2 for a few weeks vs elliptical...the elliptical would be a nice return for you once you are back to WB, as in very easy aerobic work. So...

    + Next four weeks plan is three x concept two sessions a week. Mostly aerobic. Ride as planned.
    + Once you are cleared, we alternate concept two and the elliptical for two weeks. Both are still aerobic so we aren't jamming on your foot. Think Week One is two sessions of growing, one section of elliptical...Week two is one and a half sessions of growing 1 1/2 sessions of elliptical, etc.

    How does that sound?

    I assume that you'll still swim right?
  • Man try being me! I was constantly like "am I so soft I can't deal with some PF" but it was so bad lol. Yeah X-ray #2 showed a clear line in the heel, I was relieved. Lol


    I like the plan and yes I'm still swimming.

    I am very nervous about having time to build up run before my next race. I've never ran a 3mi race in my life much less the final leg of a Tri, and I'm a TERRIBLE runner.

  • Hey Coach P I've got a question. The race I'm doing in April is in El Paso so the elevation is higher than Crane. Is there anything I need to do special to prepare for that? Should I try using those dumb masks?
  • No...not at all. It just means your HR zones will be a bit higher on race day...so if you are used to a 130 bike, you'll see 140 for that...basic fitness trumps elevation concerns right now!!
