Hi guys.  I think I know the answer to this but just want to make sure as we're early on in the OS.  I ran my run today Wed 11/9 which was 60' at TRP with option to push to Z3 for last mile.  I executed and ran based on pace but did notice my HR creeping up to Z3.  For most of the run my HR was high Z2.  I was running on a treadmill at 2% and effort felt like Coach P described in his run pacing video (enough that you know you're doing work but not pushing too much).  So overall my question is if I still solely focus on pace assuming HR varies or should I keep an eye and maybe lower TRP pace to get my HR down to lower Z2.  Thanks guys.  just want to make sure I'm getting the right work in.

  • Patrick, great question. I want you focused on Pace right now. My hunch is that we will see the HR drop a bit after a few weeks as you adapt.

    For right now just lock it in at TRP and don't "exercise" that option for the Zone 3...let's not start that until Week 6, maybe Week 5 if you are feeling more comfortable with your effort!
