Garmin connect is driving me crazy

So I had an older garmin connect account with a user name not an email account and it was working fine.  Activities auto-sync with TP and Strava.  But now the new update of Garmin Express as well as Garmin Mobile want an email as the username.  So I now have two accounts and it's driving me crazy.  Anyone have this happen and if so what's the best way to fix it?

  • You can't change your username in Garmin Connect. Maybe tech support could update your old username for you or merge your two accounts together?

  • My account uses a username. Why did you have to change it? I was having issues with my watch this week, so I had to uninstall Express and I have the newest version with no issues (other than watch). I have Connect on my phone and laptop without issues.
  • @Robert Sabo did you get a new Garmin device or have one replaced?

    I had the same issue recently when my 520 puked and they replaced it. I spoke with Garmin customer service and they told me the only resolution was to delete one of the accounts and assured me they would migrate together via some internal protocol.

    For whatever reason, I don't buy into that logic and still have both accounts (one username login/one email). I intend to call again and speak with another person to confirm prior to deleting anything.

    My only advice is to call customer service and see what they say. It's a total hassle!
