free ironman things at my door

I have an odd question, in April I recived a copy of last years Kona movie in the mail, I didn't order it, it just came, I thought that I must have won it in an online contest.   Today I have a case of Ironman perform drinks on my front step.  The website says it comes out next week. Again, I did not order it.

Is this because I signed up for the Kona lottery this year? Or maybe becauase I am signed up for Rhode Island? Does anyone else get this free stuff? I'm not complaining, its just a little strange that it has no note saying what it is from.

  • I got the Kona DVD as well, didn't order it.

I'm not signed up for an IM this year, so I haven't received the juice.

I did sign up for the Kona lottery though, maybe that's why I got the DVD.
  • I got the Kona DVD earlier this year too- I think when I signed up for the lottery that I did that "club member" dealio (ie, pay extra and get one more chance at the lottery slot). Maybe that's why?

The Powerbar stuff is apparently getting shipped to a bunch of folks signed up for Ironman races 'cause it's what they will be using this year. THere's another thread somewhere on that subject.

  • I received my case of Ironman PERFORM yesterday. It was sent out to everyone registered for several IM's and some 70.3 's. I tried it this a.m. It tastes okay, nothing special. Will try it for my long workout day Saturday, 1 hr. swim, 4 hr. bike, 1 hr. run, and see how it works.
  •  I also got the PERFORM today, no video. Must be a lottery thing

  • Ahh good, I was sort of afraid that I would get a bill later, I have not opened the Kona video yet just in case.

Sort of strange to send all this out with no advertising or even a note. I saw in the other thread that so people got an email, but I did not. Perhaps next they will send me something really usefull, like a maid... image would give me more time to train!
  • changing the subject, how do we get this Perform stuff so we can train for it??? doing WI and sure would like some for long runs. m
  • According to their website
"New Ironman PERFORM ready-to-drink sports beverage will be available June 8, 2010 in three flavors—Lemon Lime, Orange Mango and Mixed Berry—via powerbar.com and shopironman.com for a suggested retail price of $1.49 per 20-fluid-ounce bottle".

It looks like that it will only be avalible online. Overall I think that the taste is not bad and it worked well for me on my long run this week.
  • hmm, that would explain the perform I got too. bummer I got lemon lime, Berry would be better.
  • For those that have not received the Perform, it is now available online. $17.00/case.

  • Wonder how they are deciding which flavor to send.. I would have preferred something along lemon line, Can't stomache the orange-mango they sent me.
