Last night was 76deg and this morning was 35deg. Houston weather is ridiculous. It felt good to finally get some cold weather running in, doing 12.4mi/90'. It was a decent overall run and I was not sore or tired afterwards, as I had previously been. My cold weather running gear needs an upgrade though. All I wore were some old long johns and a long sleeve shirt. My fingers and ears were freezing. Eventually I warmed up. After the two Z4 miles, I was sweating and took it down to shorts. Then it was like my joints starting freezing (not to mention the nether regions!) as soon as I hit the mile-long head-wind that came once every three miles on my loop. That was the real tough part. Luckily, I only have to deal with these kinds of conditions once in a blue moon. Hats off the rest of you.
Good luck to everyone testing. Hope to read about some big improvements next week.
