Questions after 1st week
Completed 1st week of OS. Few questions.
- The bike threshold workouts were challenging, but the Thursday’s 30/30 were easy for me. I had to hold myself back off to keep it low Z5 but easily avg 300w. FTP:257w, Z5: 283-309w. Is it normal if it is easy?
- After doing my 5k test (20:32) and calculating my run zones, from zone 1, 2, 3 and TRP the paces seem to be fast (8:49, 7:32, 7:14, and 8:10). My Zone 4 seems right to me. My past and fairly recent half marathon gives me similar zones. Is it intentional for the paces zones to be intense/fast?
- For the runs scheduled on the same day as a bike workout can the run be done before? Run in the morning and bike afternoon?

1. Yes, 30/30s are easy for some...you can do them a bit harder...try to see if you can hold 320, or 330, etc.
2. The paces are all relative to where you came from. Surprisingly, most of our athletes tell us the paces are too SLOW except for Z4 which is too fast. Since you ran the test, you can do the running...but expect some adaptation so don't force yourself to run too fast. So if our "Steady" is 8:00 but you feel like your Steady is 8:30...then let's go 8:15s for a while.
3. You can do the run whenever you want! Some folks do them on Mon / Friday even just so their daily schedule isn't interrupted.
