  •  Rich,

FYI they are working on the bridge on the out and back so that road is closed.  They HOPE to have it done by race day.  You can detour around it and end up out there kinda sorta.  My bet is that if the bridge is not done by race day they will change the course and do an out and back past where the current turn is in Jay.  I could be totally wrong but that seems like it would make sense traffic and wide road wise.

Wow...ok, I had no idea. Yeah, they could go past Jay and flip it farther up the road...that would certainly be better than the out and back (I don't like it) and likely less drafting as they could keep the officials and moto's working in that area. Scary on a moto in the out and back.

I guess I'll tell the campers to go 7 out, 7 back past Jay to get in the mileage?

Screw that!  Tell them when they get to the top of Papa Bear to turn around, head down the hill back to Wilmington, turn around and climb back up again.  Sheesh!  Are you going soft or something?

  • @Tony, yeah, that would be better "Just do repeats of the Bears for 14mi each lap..."

So who is in for the Epic Ride Option on Saturday vs riding the course again? This is a great, great ride. Lots of pictures, quiet roads, chowda by the lake, etc.

    Chris?

  • I'm in for Epic.

    Eric
  •  Okay, I'm not on facebook, my wife is.  Can I RSVP thru hers or will it mess up a database?  Also, all I see is the box to the top right that asks if attending, maybe, not attending but there is nothing to hit to send it....  I'm sorry, I don't do facebook so I have no idea how to navigate it.  Would it just be easier to just show up and pay for the Friday night dinner via the EN website?  Thanks.

    Dan

  • I'm in for epic on Sat.
  • @Dan, just download the .pdf in my first post and show up for dinner with $30. Done.

  •  I would love to do the epic ride on saturday but as of now I will be going to a 6 year old soccer game.  I might get out of it but wont know for a while.  That ride is much more fun than the LP course.  I may not be able to walk by then anyhow if I actually do the epicman thing with the Boys on Friday.  Because the bridge is out Dev thinks we should climb to the toll booth on each loop.  Makes that bears idea sound appealing.

We can for sure do that ride along the Lake LP weekend though.

  • @Rich if they go all....the...way...into Ausable forks (slightly downhill / fast) and back (up) again, they'll get just over 10 miles. Would give them another pit stop option...
  •  Thanks Rich, see you next weekend.

  • Does anyone else want to be back by 2:30 pm on Saturday in time to watch the US-England World Cup match? I guess an 8 am departure leaves us 6.5 hours to get back, which should be plenty for 100 miles if we don't dilly dally.
  • I'm in for the Epic. I'd like to do a different route than the IMUSA course.
  • FYI, it isn't epic hard but epic cool and scenic. Imusa has picked all the bad roads for the race. The good ones are elsewhwere and riding along the lake is awesome. P, I think the ferry joint was closed last time, like they didn't open until 11:30 or something?
