Treadmill Purchase Advice

Can anyone offer some advice or recommendations for a treadmill. I don't need super fancy with pre-programmed workouts or video screens. Just need a quality, quiet machine, with a responsive speed adjustment. What should I look for? I typically have only used what was available in my gym, but I am now considering one for the house. Or is there a thread on this already that I missed? Thanks.

  • I have had the Sole F80 for two years. It's been a very solid treadmill. I did a bunch of research and this one was consistently recommended. I find it better than gym and hotel treadmills -- and it is very reasonably priced.

  • Here's a great old thread on this from Resources / Wiki / Running: http://bit.ly/2iIO57T
  • Coach Patrick and Gabe, Thanks. The wiki was very helpful, with a lot references to treadmilldoctor.com. And Gabe's recommendation for the Sole F80 gives me a good starting point for comparison. Thanks for the references and advice. I'm off to do some research!

  • I also have a sole f80. Bought almost 4yrs ago and it is still working great. It's a great machine and runs fairly quiet. When I bought, I purchased the previous year's model, which got me a pretty good discounted price. I bought directly from Sole.
  • I purchased a Nordictrack commercial 1750 (really for home use) a year ago black friday. I only have about 500 miles on it. I like it. The inclined to be calibrated once (last week) as it was off and I did calculate the speed which always seemed faster to me aka harder at same pace than other treadmills I ran on. It is off a bit...2.6% at my ez pace. Otherwise its been great. My hubby uses the ifit program to dowel run work outs and I just realized I can do you tube with it. Doh! If I have to run long this winter on it that will be nice to have. I love the fans on it too. Fit my budget of $1500. The I fit programming is extra, but I got a deal for 2yrs so I added that. image
  • Matt, after tying many of them out in many stores, I opted for a Landice L7, you can add or take away what you want from them parts wise, they are built in the US and are 100% guaranteed, and come with a white glove delivery usually.   We even talked them down off the retail price a bit.  Brian
  • Brian- nice choice. I've had the L7 for a year, put over 2k miles on it, and it is rock solid.
