Got a great picture from Rich Stanbaugh on how he's working on building balance and foot/ankle/hip strength....with this great picture. Just curious...how do YOU work?
Yes - it is a balance pad. It's safely unstable to stand on it; forces all the little muscles relating to balance to work harder when you stand on it with one foot.
I'm a sitter at my desk. I "get" the whole stand thing, but I'm not interested. I do enough standing during the rest of the day that I don't feel the need to do otherwise. Plus, since people come in to see me frequently (announced and unannounced), it would just seem weird to be standing.
I have a sit-stand desk that raises and lowers on demand. Most times I stand but on long workout days I'll sit part of the day. Rich, where did you get that pad? It looks like a good idea.
@ Dave, maybe you should invent some controls like the Segway where you just lean your body to steer. Flying might get a lot more interesting or they may just say we'll let the computer do it.
If @Dave Gardner is leaning to steer, I hope he's been planking this OutSeason® with @Brenda Ross -- would hate to see what happens to the plane of someone who can't stand for very long.
I used to work at this desk, but now that its winter, the office is freezing, so I am working at the livingroom/diningroom table. Not ideal at all. I plan on moving offices, going to a smaller desk (trying to sell this one now) and then move into the smaller, brighter, warmer room.
