The Purpose of the FebOS Forum

The rest of this forum will be filled with weekly mojo and accountability threads. For example, the FebOS Week 1 Thread, or the FebOS Week 1 Bike Thread, FebOS Week 1 Core Workout Thread, where you'll encourage each other, hold each other accountable, and generally support each other as you build your FAST across your 14 weeks together.

FebOS Captains

I need thread captains for the bike, run and core. Are you interested in volunteering? If you are not sure what that entails, you can reach out to one of the other thread captains in Nov, Dec or January OutSeaons or you can email me (Brenda) at brenda@endurancenation.us if you're interested.

Please Introduce Yourself to Your FebOS Teammates!

Please join/sign into the FebOS by introducing yourself by posting to this thread, posting a picture and brief bio using the format below. These are the people you'll be training with, virtually, for months and months so it would be great to put faces and personal stories to names and email addresses!

We recommend that you subscribe to this thread. You'll then receive an email when updates are made to this admin thread.

Finally, understand that the Coaches do not actively monitor these Training Group Forums, searching for training questions and support issues to address. That is, if you have a training related coachy-coachy question, you'll find us in the other forums and specifically in the Micro and Macro Threads!

Thanks! We look forward to seeing what fun and motivation you guys create for yourselves!

  • Boy howdy! Let's get this party started! I have had to do a reboot on my OS due to influenza and then a head cold that put me down! Lost almost 4 weeks. I have been with EN for 4 years. This is my first full IM year. When I saw IM Santa Rosa come up as a team IM had to go for it! It's too close to home to miss. Family was all in so why not?

Looking forward to seeing who else will be loading up the barrel of monkeys come Monday! LOL. I've already seen the first 4 weeks. We're in for some fun. #evilcoachlaugh.
  • Hey Everyone!

I went from NOS -> DOS -> JOS -> to the cool kids of the FOS!

Last year, I completed my first IM at LOU and loved it. Thought about another 140.6 this year, but this summer is shaping up to be super busy and I don't want to add to an already crowded plate. I've been in touch with Coach P, and instead of distance, we are hammering out plans for 2017 to be the year of fast.

I am also rehabbing a long standing medial knee thing - it really doesn't have a formal diagnosis and some PF. I have committed to pilates twice a week, more yoga, massage therapy and PT.

Looking forward as always to the great energy and incredible support everyone offers.

    Cheers!

  • I am recoverying from a significant back issue. Once I got back to Swim, Bike, and Walk/Run, my progress was remarkable. JOS was a bit much, so I feel like I will benefit from a restart with a smaller group of dedicated athletes. I can complete the run portion with narrowing walk breaks. Best plan will likely be a return to my roots in short course.
  • OK Elizabeth, we've got to get Jacklyn started on her road to the finish line of IM#1! I'm planning on being especially quick at the local Sprint in May, so my FOS will be more like a short course plan. I've got a hectic life (in-hospital call this Monday), but plenty (35 years) of experience at managing training with life. If the three of us are alone in FOS, let's keep a very regular thread going (probably don't need captains or separate forums) so that others feel welcome to join our group. Jacklyn, you and Ralph have been around for some time, and are loyal EN Peeps. While I drop in-and-out of the Haus, after a difficult few months, I feel like I really need the Team right now. FOS fits with my rehabilitation to triathlete plan. Test tomorrow morning!
  • We'll, the FOS wasn't intentionally planned, but here I am.  Long story short, my off season had lots of business travel and late nights coaching my son's Bantam travel hockey team which took its toll on me physically.  Hockey season has about a month left, so it's time to get back at it.  FOS goals:  1) Complete 90% of the workouts 2) No injuries.  Let the fun (pain) begin.
  • Pretty much I am in the same sitch as Dan Huhn.  I started in JOS and then promptly travelled and ended up being honest myself that I was just not ready to do the work. Mentally I was out of commision.  EXHAUSTED and not feeling it.

I have given myself permission to rest and start building the bedtime and morning habits that I will need to be able to be successful in my goals and here I am ready to get going again!

I am finally ready to be ALL IN.

I joined EN in 2012 after IMFL.  This is my 3rd OS (took 2 years off due to finishing my master's degree) and am looking at easing back into the IM distance by doing 2 70.3 relays with my hubby this year, focusing on the run and short course for my racing.  In 2018 I am heading back to IM with my eyes on most likely IMChoo.

I am really looking to focus on my run and strength this go around, so I am happy to be in the OS with a team of people that I adore!  Let's do it!

@John - I never made the HS cheerleading team, so I get a second chance by being an EN peep and cheering the team across their finish lines. :)@Jacklyn - we got you!

We all have "stuff" so this tells me I landed in the right group - we are all in this together, so let's get the party started and have some fun!

My plan is similar to @Dan - stay injury free, and complete 90% (or as close to as possible).

    See everyone tomorrow!
