  • Reverse Saturday and Sunday since bad weather coming tomorrow.. felt really good during the intervals.

GPS went a bit crazy as I was running downtown and buildings block GPS.

  • I'm at a family wedding in CA so I did the long run today. Great run. Then tomorrow off and then my wife and I are going to stay in CA until Friday. I brought the bike so a couple of long bike rides are in order. It is good to be in a place where the temp allows for outdoor biking. I'm looking forward to the a couple of days outside.  The run today was longer than planned as I didn't know the territory. I still managed the 2x1 mile intervals and was consistient and hard doing them a bit under a 7:27 pace.
  • @Jeff K - nice race and congrats on the run streak!
@Francis - you're simply too fast to be tracked by satellite, great run today!
@Jon B - it's hard to run away from your normal routes so congrats on getting through it; and showing some speed on the intervals ... nice!

Did another split run today ... first with my two labs Charlie and Bella (1.5 miles); then solo ... legs felt heavy from the bike work.  Hoping I get some rebound for tomorrow's longer run
  • Nice work Jeff!

Finished up my week with a short sharp 2.5mile brick (swapped Sat/Sun) ..had a solid 10miler yesterday and overall week of 5run & 25mile total.
  • Rounded out the week with a recovery run to "knock the stink off" my legs from yesterdays race. Fortunately, I had a massage scheduled so I wasn't too bad off. TRP to easy pace for 4.1 miles. Rounded out to be 31.5 miles for the week. Traveling next week, will juggle workouts a bit but will get them all in.
  • I felt not so great during (semi-sick-tired) during my Friday run, so I opted to take Saturday off when I felt the same way.  Today (Sunday), I did the Saturday ride, took a couple hours break, and then went off for the long run. Again, a judgment call, after the very hard bike ride and low rest, I cut the intensity from it....just got in my 11 miles in 90 minutes pretty much spot on.

I'll be doing a bit of stretching and rolling tonight.  ;-)
  • Got in the 3rd and final run of the week, 9' running 22' total for 1.4 miles.  Hit my stretch goal again this week and feeling pretty good about the run.

Thinking next week total run time of 30-35' with a stretch goal at 39'.

  • I didn't get the Thursday run in at all so did penance and ran extra this weekend. 70' Saturday and 100' minutes today. Gorgeous weather in the Phoenix valley
  • I *think* my life is more in order now, so... hope to be more active in this awesome JOS group!  I'm a little behind in the running, so focusing on increasing frequency first at L/TRP, while having fun with my new Stryd whip!  So interesting to work on a steady power output on rolling terrain!  You really learn where you need to back off MORE (uphill) and turn it up MORE (downhill).
  • legs felt a bit too fatigued on the intervals, but got in 80 solid minutes in my weekend run park, The Rockefeller Estate (now a NYS park) 70+ miles of bridle paths, none of them flat, some pretty significant hills as well. Explored a section with a friend that I've never run beforre, pics next time!
Capped out my week with 37+ miles for the week.
  • @Jeff Kane - 89 days of running defines durability!  Well done on the 15K bro!

I had some 800M intervals Saturday before the game that left me on the couch the rest of the day: https://www.strava.com/activities/856617105

  • I am so happy to say I got both the long runs and a delayed onset brick all on the BEACH this weekend.  So awesome to run along the shore on beautiful sand! I wanted to squeeze in another 2 to make it a nice twenty but Super Bowl OT and family chatter put the kabash on that.  The rest of my Florida runs will be on the orange blossom trail and still in shorts and sun! Enjoy the legs off day peeps!
  • Did the long hard run yesterday on the treadmill.  My longest run since last spring.  I hit all the paces but boy did it become an exercise in mental training!  Really had to focus and try not to stare at the clock (which seemed to be in super slow motion).  I've been using my new Stryd foot pod which for some reason isn't as accurate on my treadmill at the faster paces.

  • Did my long run today, feeling super strong. Slow, but strong. Past couple of days I've had some nagging soreness in left hamstring, but as soon as I got going ng, didn't feel any discomfort. Did my same course as I did for last week's run, for the exact same 6.52 miles, my time variance was only 8 seconds compared to last week. Looking forward to tomorrow's rest day.
