"Toddler's Fracture" ?
Anyone here have an experience with a child with a Toddler's Fracture?
My 18 month old son was having trouble taking off a rain boot yesterday evening and he somehow hurt his foot / leg. I didn't see this happen so I am not sure exactly what took place. He now refuses to put any weight on the leg. He had a horrible night with lots of crying. He keeps touching his foot. We took him to urgent care last night, but they didn't have the ability to x-ray a baby. Last night it wasn't swollen or anything, but according to my wife it is a little swollen today.
My wife is getting him x-rays right now.
After doing some googling, a "Toddler's Fracture" of the Tibia seems like a candidate. It is apparently pretty common and is usually the result of something rotational and can happen from something minor, just a force applied in the wrong way I guess.
I am freaking out because the treatment for this would be a long cast, all the way up to hip.
Anyone heard of anything like this? What should be ask the doctor?
Thanks!

X-rays were clear, the Doctor said just a sprain. I am not convinced. According to the internet 13-15% of these do not show anything on the x-ray and she is not a radiologist. If he doesn't get better in the next few days I guess we will try to find a specialist.
