FOS Week 2 Run a do run, a do run-run Thread
Now that we have shiny new numbers to play with... the focus turns on WORK.
Here in da Haus, work has a special meaning for me. I used to fear work because it is hard. Now I value and respect work because it is where growth happens. Like the space between comfort and fear, where education and learning resides. I now look forward to the time I am working because for two years I did not put in work and I saw what it did to my body.. horrible things.
Work is the place where strength is built and power is curated. Work is where the mental and physical dance. Work is where we become, we create. Don't fear the work - embrace it as the vehicle by which you will arrive at your destination.
This week's primary runs are the long run on Wednesday and the speedwork on Sunday, each increasing in duration over the OS. Those are the one that will pay huge dividends on race day!!
A big part of the running we do now is designed to increase durability in the long run... pun intended. To do that effectively, that means a focus more on frequency than volume.
Tuesday and Thursday are our stride runs, brick them or complete them later in the day - let your availability and obligations determine which works best for you but the key here is cumulative fatigue and cumulative/additive work, i.e. the training works best when we do all of the training. It is suggested to complete Saturday'so run as a brick.

@Shaughn Simmons nice pace over 15K!
Today was an exciting 5.5 miles at TRP. The wind was gusting pretty heavy. There's a storm blowing in. Got sprinkled on a little. Run is definitely feeling good. Hips are starting to open up more. Have a massage tomorrow am. Will try and get it in before the massage. It bothers me to go out after a massage and WO. Feels like i've kind of wasted my money.

Have a great day tomorrow. CRUSH THE GORILLA! Do not trust it if it brings you a banana.
I carried a lot of fatigue (as designed) from the Saturday bike into Sunday. I knew going in this was going to be a rough Sunday run stacking a 4 X 1.5 mile threshold interval set.
