  • Saturday brick run complete. Solid effort at just above z2 pace - felt very springy!!! Legs felt good.
  • did a swim and a 2 outta 3 intervals on Friday AM.. realized when i felt kinda buggish (again) on friday afternoon, didn't run.. travel day today to CO, adjusting to running at altitude sucks. and garmin kept wigging out..
did roughly 3.4 miles at an oxygen deprived pace!

  • I swapped Saturday and Sunday around.  I decided to do my run on Saturday.

Oops.. this is what I get for chitchatting during the entire run and not paying attention to pace.  Maybe I should do this more often since this pace was great for me.

  • I was feeling a bit fatigued when I started the run this morning. That didn't last long through as it was"money" today!! Nailed all the zones and felt strong. 32.9 miles for the week and 104 days into the run streak!

I had a really great group run today! It was supposed to be 10 miles but I fell at the end! No injury but had to stop.

  • @Scott Dinhofer - hope you feel better.  That Steamboat Springs run on Strava looks pretty good!

Nice runs today Jason (a run like that is good once in a while), Jeff (way to keep building durability), and Katherine!  (Katherine, hopefully you have no effects from the spill)

I ran on the trails today with some climbing.  Feel tired from the training load; TSB number has spiked quite a bit the last few weeks; looking forward to the easy day tomorrow
  • My one and only run of the week I clocked in 5'.  I think standing down this week was the best decision of my OS so far.  Now I just have to decide on what I'm picking up with next week.

Right now the conservative me wants to do 20'-30' next week while the aggressive guy wants to pick up where I left off 40-45' with a stretch goal.  I completed 39' in week 5.  I'm leaning towards the conservative guy at the moment.

Week 6 is officially in the books for me.

  • Today I ran for the first time in 4 weeks. In the five weeks following my piriformis injury mid Dec, I ran a total of 41 miles, all of it hurting in my left butt. Then 4 weeks of no running while skiing. That didn't really hurt at all. Today,  2 miles @ my old LRP, no pain, so I'm getting off to a good re-start. Each day will be a new adventure...
  • @Phil Mills. Nice run. Looks like a pretty place for s Sunday run.

@Shaughn Simmons My birthday present was the Stryd. Now to figure out what the power means. I've listened to one podcast and plan to listen to more. I think it will be really helpful especially on either trails or hilly terrain. I'd love to figure out my run zones like my bike ones.
  • Sunday longish run done.

I carried a lot of fatigue (as designed) from the Saturday bike into Sunday.  I knew going in this was going to be a rough Sunday run stacking a 4 X 1.5 mile threshold interval set.

Trying to make it to March 5 for a rest week without breaking anything....

  • My legs were pretty tired Sunday morning so I was unsure about how the long run would go.  Once again, just got on the treadmill and started running.  I usually feel much better after the first mile which is what I always tell myself in a race or early morning workout, "just get through the first mile".  In this case I extended that to "just get through the first three miles at TRP" and see how it goes on the mile repeats at Z4.  Fortunately I felt ok by the mile repeats and then I knew I would make it.  This was my longest run since last spring.
