sick again and mildly injured

My dislocated elbow is better but I have a chronic sprain to right calf (in therapy and doing better)  getting that damn cough again!  however, here's the question...
I did the Austin half marathon on the 19th as a test.  Weather was awful!  fastest runner that day for the marathon was a half hour slower than normal...  should I even think about using that time for a test?  or wait and retest when I'm better and it's not so stinking hot outside!  (for new Vdot)
thanks, yours in patience (not so much) and determined (definitely)

I think that should be signed "...and determined (indefinitely)"  :wink:

What do you think is up with that cough? Seems sketchy to me that it's back again! Or rather, what would you say to a patient with the same situation?

That Half marathon was a mental, not a physical test. Let's wait on the zones and keep running as you are now.

Remember, consistency is your key, not flash. I'll take a daily 15' workout over Go Big, Dig Hole, Days Off To Recover!!!

  • thanks!  will do!!!  cough gone ... leg better... running in Hokas and no pain in leg, just blisters:)  Went to doctor.  MRI perfectly normal...  (it's in my head I guess!) and allergies are an issue...  much better with change in weather. (71 degrees!)   Yes, the half was a mental test!!!  and I went and volunteered at mile 24 after the race!
  • Oh, and my doctor said to rest  :D
  • That made me laugh out loud!!!!
